Job Description:    
Together with one of our Network Partners we are interested to participate with an extended team of specialists and Avconet Team members in the project described below. The newly founded Avconet Africa Ltd. will be eventually the consortium member.


Description of project:

The Federal Government of an huge and rich West African State has received financing from the World Bank towards the cost of the West and Central Africa Air Transport Security and Safety Program (WCAATSSP), Phase II and intends to apply part of the proceeds to procure consultancy services. The Project Coordination Unit of the Federal Ministry of Transportation (Air Transport) therefore wishes to acquire for the College of Aviation Technology, the services of World Class aviation organization with specific expertise, proven track record and experience in aviation training & institutional development to assist in carrying out a study on equipment, infrastructure and training needs.

The Project Coordinating Unit now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc).

Such expertise could include

• Project Management & Organizational Development,

• Air Transport Management,

• Flight Crew Training,

• Air Traffic Control Training,

• Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Training,

• Air Traffic Services Engineering Personnel (ATSEP) training,

• Aviation Regulations, etc).

• Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.

Scope of Services:

The consultant will be required among other things to undertake the following functions:

(i) Carryout an analysis of the Nigerian Aviation Industry to determine the manpower and training needs of the industry;
(ii) Institutional assessment of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria to provide recommendations on equipment, infrastructure & training needs in order to effectively cater for the needs of the industry.
(iii) Carry out a comparison with other aviation training schools in the African sub region in order to prepare a business model for NCAT to enhance competitiveness & sustainability of academic activities.

Duration of the Service:

The assignment must be completed within a period of six (6) months from the date of signing of contract.
